Plants have been looking droopy. Only watering when the coco is dry. Crisp on top, and not a lot of moisture knuckle deep. About every 2-3 days. Humidity has gone up from 30-40%, so I'm not sure if the pots just aren't drying out as much?
Second guess is the start of nitrogen toxicity because they do look nice and dark green.
THIS. I went ahead and did some quick googling, and the pictures look exactly like what I'm seeing. Description is dead on. I think They are clawing. What's an emergency remedy to nitrogen overdose? 6 plants were fed week 1 flower nutes 2 days ago. Other 6 were fed 1 day ago, and quickly following suit.
First guess is rootbound. How long have they been in their 5 gallon pots? Better question. Hard to get rootbound in fabric though.
Also are you using the lift test? Making sure the bottoms of the pots are drying out and not staying saturated? It’s usually hard to over water when your plants are that developed in coco. Unless the bottoms are staying saturated and causing roots to sit in water. Okay last idea for now waiting for feedback. ✌🏻
I'm hard pressed to think it's overwatering. The top layer of coco is so dry, it blows away if air from a fan hits it. The pots are very light by the time I water, with some signs of condensation in their drain trays, but no standing water. The coco sucked up >3liters of water 2 days ago, with barely anything draining out.
It could be underwatering. Try every other day. Once they are established like you got, overwatering is hard to do. Roots can breath so good in fabric once they are spread. With that info I’ll say increase waterings more often.
I’m leaning more towards under-watering. Only because nitrogen tox is more of a “claw” look. Where your just getting a curl. Hard to say. But if it’s the start of nitrogen tox. Just lower your feed by 1-2 mL per gallon of A and B.
So, like 3-4ml A&B per gallon. Keep everything else around 5. I'll keep the cal mag up there. And I'll water every 2 days max. Maybe move to every day and try to get runoff. I better go PH some water.
I went with 2ml per gallon of A&B, and everything else around 5ml/G for a good flush. I gave 6 of the girls quick drinks until runoff. Took between 1.5- 1.6 Gallons each to achieve runoff. 10 gallons total. The other 6 will get the same treatment tomorrow if things are looking any better.
6 girls bounced back and are praying to the QB gods once more! Time to mix up 10 more gallons of lite nutes for the other 6 that are showing the same issues.
DB86 There we go! Awesome my friend. I would be hard pressed if my Canna feeding schedule cause nitrogen tox, but never rule anything out. I'm glad we got this one settled up! They drink a good amount of water during their first part of flowering which is the "stretch" phase you don't want to starve em so I would bump your feed back up next watering to. No rush, you'll be good.
Yeah, I really think it's because I haven't been getting much if anything in the form of runoff. The additional CalMag ive been using has some Nitrogen as well, so I think it just added up and led to my situation.
