Hello everyone out there!
Some days ago I decided to start my own little cannabis "farm" so I can smoke the weed I planted myself. When I found your YouTube channel I was kinda impressed since I could get every point although I'm not a native speaker! That's what led me over here :)
Of course I already gathered some information about the whole process, but I still have some points which are not totally clear to me.
So my goal is to grow in a 40x40x120cm tent (which is 15.7x15.7x47"). I know this is very small but I only want to have one plant and I don't have more space. (in one direction at least)
So the first thing I'm thinking about is what size of tent i should take. If I take this small one I mentioned above I don't have the chance to sit in the tent when harvesting my plant. (I would have the chance to do that in a 35x20x63", trust me :D)
It's very important to not smell anything. So the question is, if I open the tent to water my plants or later to harvest them, does that smell intense or is that OK?
Exhaust + carbon filter:
Since I want to have a quite silent construction I will take a fan with more throughput and dim it down so it's not running on 100%.
I think a 105m³/h fan would be enough to do that, combined with a carbon filter of the same "size" or one size bigger.
How would this one be? https://ventilation-system.com/product/vents-100-vko#characteristic
Combined with a 140m³/h 100mm diameter carbon filter.
What size of fan would you take for circulating air? I guess something very small with a diameter of like 8" should do the job?
As important information here I have to say I'm going to use LED's, so the heat will be OK.
I'd like to know what you think about the combination of tent+exhaust+carbon filter. Would it also fit if I take the bigger tent mentioned above?
About this topic I read that a 300W Mars Hydro should be good. But I'm afraid this could be too much for my tiny tent. What do you think about this? Since I would also plant only one plant into the bigger tent as well that shouldn't affect the LED too much.
I would use classic potting soil for growing, since there are a lot of nutrients in it. How important is all this additional stuff you take then? Of course I am going to buy pH-Down and a measuring tool for it. As well as a measuring tool for humidity and temperature.
I am still not sure whether I should buy seeds or saplings. If I buy feminized seeds I have a very high chance of getting a female plant, right?
Last but not least I'd like to know if you would take auto-flowering or not as a beginner? Since I read the traditional might have a higher yield than auto-flowering due to longer veg. period.
I'm sorry for the length of this post, I hope you still have the time to answer :)
With best regards,
